Fees
Studying in the UK can be great value for money. UK degree courses are generally shorter than in the US and Australia because they are more intensive.
Full-time postgraduate masters courses are only one year compared to two in many other countries.
Tuition fees cover the cost of your study at the University and include charges for registration, tuition, supervision, examinations and graduation.
Payment of fees will also entitle you to membership of the Library, the Students' Union and the Athletic Union.
To provide you with certainty in your financial planning, the University has fixed tuition fees for new international students from September 2007 entry for the duration of the course.
Any offer of a place at the University is made on the understanding that you have sufficient funds to pay for your tuition fees and your living expenses for the entire duration of your period of study.
Fees vary for each course. Details of individual course fees can be found in the course profiles:
International student funding advice
A good way to start exploring your funding options is to speak to staff in your subject area to find out how previous students have financed their studies.
You should also contact the Ministry of Education or Education Department along with the British Council office in your own country. The location of your nearest British Council office can be found on the British Council website.

Before you start your search for funding you should consider the following:
Funding opportunities are very competitive and are generally given to students that have achieved outstanding academic results and submitted high quality applications
The application process for funding opportunities can start very early in the admissions cycle so you should start looking for funding opportunities 12-18 months before you intend studying
If you need a visa to study in the UK you will need to prove to the immigration officer that you are able to meet both the tuition and living costs which may take the form of bank account information and/or a letter confirming sponsorship
Search our funding opportunities database to find which awards you are eligible to apply for. The database contains details of the major international student award schemes offered by the British government and other organisations, as well as a number of awards offered by the University and its Faculties and Schools.

In addition, funded studentships attached to specific research projects are advertised in more detail on School websites. Some of these studentships are not available to international students, and you should check your eligibility before making an application.
