[size=14pt][font=Times New Roman]Many people may hold that what the behavior of a child is mostly determined by the child’s parents, for it is the result of the parents’ education. However, this may not always the case, for the reason that children are more influenced by the media and others that outside home as the development of the society. [/font][/size]
[size=14pt][font=Times New Roman]Firstly, nowadays children are watching more and more television, which amplifies the influence of the television program. To many children, the happiest time in a day is the television time. They enjoy almost all the television programs, some of which may be filled with negative characters. It is probably that children may imitate those negative characters for fun. It has been said that no children can avoid being influenced by television. Much as the parents may proud themselves on their methods of education, they are no longer free to determine the behaviors of their children, for television exerts a subtle influence on the children.[/font][/size]
[size=14pt][font=Times New Roman]Secondly, many parents have less and less time to teach their children, because they have more and more work to do. Many parents complain that the work load deprives their family time. Even after work, many parents still think of work instead of their children. The development of the modern society sort of weakens the parents’ education on their children.[/font][/size]
[size=14pt][font=Times New Roman]Finally, some rules that the parents teach the children can be easily undone by something outside home. Many children may consider the behavior which can be seen everywhere to be a standard. This can give rise to many curious situations, as it did in the case of my cousin. My cousin is five years old, and his parents are the ones who concern children education very much. One day, my cousin threw some rubbish on the bus when taking a bus with me. I asked why he threw rubbish so casually, because I know that his parents always tell not to do so. He told me that he saw so many people throw rubbish on the street without any consideration. Accordingly he thinks it is usual and normal to throw rubbish if he wants to.[/font][/size]
[size=14pt][font=Times New Roman]Taking the factors aforementioned into account, one will be convinced that the parents’ influence on children is weakened while the media’s influence is strengthened. [/font][/size]
