The spacing of the four holes on a fragment of a bone flute excavated at a Neanderthal campsite is just what is required to play the third through sixth notes of the diatonic scale—the seven-note musical scale used in much of Western music since the Renaissance. Musicologists therefore hypothesize that the diatonic musical scale was developed and used thousands of years before it was adopted by Western musicians.Which of the following, if true, most strongly supports the hypothesis?A.Bone flutes were probably the only musical instrument made by Neanderthals.B.No musical instrument that is known to have used a diatomic scale is of an earlier date than the flute found at the Neanderthal campsite.C.The flute was made from a cave-bear bone and the campsite at which the flute fragment was excavated was in a cave that also contained skeletal remains of cave bears.D.Flutes are the simplest wind instrument that can be constructed to allow playing a diatonic scale.E.The cave-bear leg bone used to make the Neanderthal flute would have been long enough to make a flute capable of playing a complete diatonic scale.
答案是E,偶选的是B,谢谢
做GWD的CR狂错,郁闷... B is wrong because it only shows that the bone flute is the earliest found. It does not address the hypothesis of the diatonic scale being used for thousands of years. Note that the discovered fragment does not play the whole scale, just mi, fa, so, and la. What is needed is some evidence that the complete diatonic scale was actually used thousands of years ago, not just having a fragment of an instrument that can play some notes of the diatonic scale.
This is what E provides. The flute fragment was made from a bone. E tells us that it was made from the leg bone of a cave-bear. What is more important, the leg bone was long enough to make a flute that could play the whole diatonic scale—do, re, mi, fa, so la, ti, do'. Since the leg bone was long enough, and the fragment found corresponded to four notes of the scale, it is reasonable to suppose that had the whole flute been found, it would have extra holes that allowed a Neaderthal to play to whole scale. 原来要这样考虑,thanks:)
觉得GWD的题比OG的难::z8 asrgbf 好强。 太傻就是好啊,还有“ 专职” 答题的牛人,不向cd,问了都没有人回答。
