关于物理SUB低分要不要送的问题

我的物理SUB的raw score是62分，非常低的一个分数。换算后可能800都不到吧。(vk6U5z&l q&jQ
许多人就说，如果把这样的分送过去，会有负面作用。X6@R9j.kc"dV
我不知道这样的说法是怎么传出来的。没有任何一个官方网站或者招生委员会的人这样说过吧，全是中国的学生自己感觉的。cn1lQ3U|E

I would advise you to use the score rather than hiding it.  Not having this score at all could put your application at a disadvantage unless other parts of it can make up for the missing score, such as a high GPA, research experience, publications. 如果你申物理的, 这分无论如都要寄, 就算考650都要寄. 去查一下就知道, 美国除了Top10中少数几个学校, 被录取者的GRE物理平均分一般就680-800左右. 如果考虑到有一大批990的人, 其实有相当多人GRE物理分很低. 最重要的还是看研究经验. 有个老美GRE物理才5xx分, 但有在很大的研究组做过几年的经验, 一样被Top10录取. 如果你不寄, 基本录取无望.

以UFL为例，UFL物理排名大概在50左右。我记得他家sub的minimum就是600多，主要原因其实是美国佬的物理sub一般都很烂。但是在美国人眼里，作为中国人sub考个900确实也不值得炫耀，他们也习惯了看到不少sub很高的中国申请者。

各个学校对sub的看法会有所不同，所以不能一概而论。我只能说LZ你这个分基本上用于申请不会有任何负面影响，只有极少数学校很看重sub成绩，譬如UIUC, 只是一点个人观点。申请要坚定自己的一些想法，能够适当取舍各个地方看到的经验教训，不宜随便听取他人的意见。,H8E~:E[U_

I do not think the Admissions committee will consider an 800 subject
test score to be low. I think it is a very sufficient score. The main
reason they look at that score is to estimate whether a student is 8Zb_ c{;pI x

applicants need to submit their subject test score in order to be
considered for admission, so you do need to include it. Although it may ]'aZqaB
be true that many of the applicants from China have higher subject f^ O xO0t eKc
score, your score is very much in the acceptable range of all pQ~o}
applicants. The committee will be looking more at your letters of
recommendation, research experience, and TOEFL (especially speaking)
scores.T hey will want to know (from your transcript) that you have a
sufficient physics course base as well.
