::z5 ::z2 I think the word is Suck ~~!::z5 ::z2 "Sucks" is probably the word you're thinking of. 5i"Y,D&r&Z*W^j.@H j;TfIt's derived from an obscenity but has come to be disassociated from that action enough to be fit for use at the office or on TV. Colloquially, something that sucks is something that is below standard, not befitting the rank it has, not particularly good, of low quality, and so forth.

A word on spelling, though: syllables ending with the "u" in "upper" and the hard 'c' sound (ie. the reading 'c' and 'k' share) are generally written as "-uck", syllables ending with the "a" in "apple" and hard 'c' are generally written as "-ack", and syllables ending with the "a" in "rain" and hard 'c' are generally written as "-ake". ^$J D G| O,J
