B主动比较compares，排除
A  earn an average of 结构很怪，不如BC把 on average 提前好，排除
所以我选择C
但是我在网络上搜索的答案选什么的都有，我手里的GWD答案是B。大家能不能帮忙提供一下比较确定的答案？

我倒觉得选B比较合适，as compared to 42 times their pay, the ratio in 1980中as多余了，the ratio也完全可以省略，不如B的后半部分来得简洁，意义来得更加明白。compares主动没什么不可以，况且主动还优于被动。earn an average of结构没什么大错，关键是逻辑含义有歧义，它的对象可以是419 times也可以是CEO，有点模糊了。

D 和 E 不对不是因为缺了 that（这里是可以省略的），而是因为 indicates 后面要跟分句，而 D 和 E 不是分句。

A 其实最好，只不过那个 419  times more pay 里面的 more 是有问题的词，令人不知道确实的意义是什么。

C 不好是因为 CEO’s now earn 419 times the pay of blue-collar workers, as compared to 42 times their pay, the ratio in 1980 读起来不太顺口。特别是那个 as compared to 42 times their pay 里面那个 their 不知道是指谁。

B 也不是什么好句。a ratio that compares to 42 times in 1980 非常不顺。

如果是我写就会是这样的：
A recent review of pay scales indicates that, on average, the pay for CEO’s is now 419 times that of blue-collar workers, while the ratio was only 42 times in 1980.

有很多时候，这些题目里面的英文并不是很好的，所以大家做的时候常常会出很多问题。不要因为这样而气馁！

B，我觉得是这个。
A肯定不对，起码也应该是that of  blue-collar workers.
C我觉得不如B，而且句子读得别扭。

楼上建议把 A 这样改：
A recent review of pay scales indicates that CEO’s now earn an average of 419 times more pay than that of blue-collar workers, compared to a ratio of 42 times in 1980.
但这样用 that 有点不妥，因为指的是 pay，所以要关照前面的 earn。可以改为 earn an average of 419 times more pay than that earned by blue-collar workers，不过这样很不顺。所以我的建议是：earn an average of 419 times more pay than what blue-collar workers earn。后面那个 compared to a ratio . . . 不好，所以我才改得好像三楼那样。

C错。 as compared to 可以修饰 worker 引起歧义。所以选B

今天做PREP上面又遇到了这道题，PREP的官方答案是C
