Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? Modern technology is creating a single world culture. Use specific reasons and examples to support your opinion.
The earth is just like a home village where different cultures, religions, races coexist. With the development of modern technology, someone puts that it is creating a single world culture, such sentiment is echoed by a sea of people. In my view, however, I totally disagree based on the following a couple of reasons.
First and foremost, modern technology continuously looms, resulting in multitudinous innovations and breakthroughs in various fields. In general, the technology polishes and refines those infant and inchoate techniques. And the world steps forward accordingly. For instance, when a new theory is put forward and soon becomes prevalent across the globe, every country tends to make use of it to deal with its own domestic issues respectively on the basis of its technological level. In other words, the new theory fails to create a concord worldwide, by comparison, it brings an end to the standstill.
Moreover, they say, technology has no boundaries, while scientists have nationalities of their own, as a consequence, technology is less likely to create a single world culture just because of its manipulator, the man. As often as not, people can collaborate very well at the starting point, nevertheless, they are inclined to break up the mutually-beneficial relationship the instant profits arise.
In addition, technology is only one part of the global development as a whole, even if we humankind are yearning for a Great-harmony world, varied industries, sciences, cultures, religions and so forth, should all be involved. Those stated issues can not be addressed only by modern technology. Objectively and personally speaking, this very much lacks of feasibility. It can be an episode in science-fiction movies.
To sum up, given the difficulties and current world condition, modern technology is unlikely and pointless to create a single world culture, and still unfeasible. Also, technology is not a panacea to cure all kinds of the global diseases.
