04/29/07: Do you agree or disagree with the following statement? It is important to know events happening around the world, though sometimes they are unlikely to affect your daily life. Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer.
With the society become more prosperous, communication technology has improved a lot which lead the people to share their enjoyable experience much more easily. However, this phenomenon has aroused a storm of debate that whether we ought to be familiar with all the things happen all around the world or just care about what just relative to themselves. As far as I am concerned,I prefer the former. The reasons are as follow.
To begin with, it would be narrow-minded to think that if the event does not influence you, there is no need for us to know. At the multi- culture society, the more things you know the more friends you can gain. It would be ironical that when the people talked a topic with excitement, you just listen to them and can not catch up them. Thus, interesting events may be a good tool to make a acquaintance with a strange people.
In addition, it can definitely help us board our horizon. For instance, when heard the news that some kind of material had been found in USA, we may be interested in what it is? where it comes from? This may cause a great deal of question. Moreover, during the process we find the answer, we may also improve our skill in many aspects like searching information and this is useful in our whole life. All in all, knowing more information about the world will have numerous advantages.
What's more, hardly anyone can make a living in a world just contains himself. Indeed, only when you open your mind to care about others things which may not affect your life do you offer a chance to let other people to care about you. And this may lead you to become a out-going person which have more advantages in career.
Considering all this factors which I have mentioned above, I think it is necessary for us you learn more about the world. 謝謝大傢！！！
