有好心人没?帮忙看看不才的第一篇argument,也好让我死心。。。

如题。。。。。。
TOPIC: ARGUMENT63 - When Stanley Park first opened, it was the largest, most heavily used park in town. It is still the largest park, but it is no longer heavily used. Video cameras mounted in the park's parking lots last month revealed the park's drop in popularity: the recordings showed an average of only 50 cars per day. In contrast, tiny Carlton Park in the heart of the business district is visited by more than 150 people on a typical weekday. An obvious difference is that Carlton Park, unlike Stanley Park, provides ample seating. Thus, if Stanley Park is ever to be as popular with our citizens as is Carlton Park, the town will obviously need to provide more benches, thereby converting some of the unused open areas into spaces suitable for socializing.

The author suggests that if Stanley Park wants to be as popular as Carlton Park, it has to provide more benches and concerts some of the unused open areas into spaces suitable for socializing. To support the suggestion, the author shows us the following reasons. First, the recording showed an average of only 50 cars per day in Stanley Park while the tiny Carlton Park is visited by more tan 150 people on a typical weekday. Second, Carlton Park provides more benches. However, the reasons above are unconvincing.
First of all, the author ignores the very important factor of the location. Carlton Park is in the heart part of the town which means there are more people will go there and relax themselves. It is very possible that Carlton Park is near a big company, and it just provides a wonderful place for the people who work there for lunch. However, the author provides no accurate location of the Stanley Park which is an important factor related to its popularity.
More over, the author makes a contrast which is obviously unwarranted. The video cameras' record in two parks is of different things. The author claims that the average number of the cars park in Stanley Park is 50 while more than 150 people will visit Carlton Park. What if all the 50 cars carry more than 3 people? Is that means Stanley park is more popular than Carlton? What's more, the number of the car in Stanley Park is an average number. What if the real number in some certain day is really high? So the contrast provides little evidence for the author's suggestion.
Last but not least, there is little evidence that supports the author's suggestion of providing more benches. Why should Stanley Park provide more benches? The author simply concludes that more benches are the reason why the Carlton Park is more popular than Stanley Park. The author fails to consider and rule out other factors that might account for the difference between two parks. Maybe the Carlton Park provides more toys for children or there are some restraints nearby. Unless the author provides more details about the benches, I can not agree with his suggestion.
To sum up, the argument is lack of credibility. Regardless of who the author is, he or she has overlooked or chosen to ignore many aspects of his or her conclusion. To strengthen the conclusion, the author should give more evidences about the above-mentioned possibilities.
