Is it really the case ,as the speaker claims in the statement ,that it is justifiable to take any means to reach the goal which one consider it as a worthy one?From my point of view ,we should take this statement into consideration in a case-by-case way.That is to say, whether the means we take is justifiable depend on many aspects.Before we take actions to attain the goal ,we should weigh the benefits from doing it against the costs.
From the personal view,there are sometime when we should make every effort to attain the goal.For example,if a medical student occationally has a chance to do some services for people who have just experienced a disaster,say ,an earthquake,when he has an important exam in front of him,what should he choose to do?I think choosing the former one may be a more sensible decision even if it is at the expense of a higher mark of the exam.Because it is the time when the nation and suffered people are in great need of such person.If he does so ,he may lose the chance to get a better grade,or even a scholarship.Yet, he goal is worthy because he in return conrtibute to the nation's work of public health.
Consider another example from the view of a singer person.One day you encounted with an elder person who has been stravered to death, and you want to help him.It is really a good deed to do so.But ,what kind of helping solution will you choose?However,if you do so with the help of stealing food and money from others ,or forcing the poor old person to do some labor work far beyond his threshold of age and strenth,then the deed has obviously lose the good essence .It disobey the law.So it is not justifiable to take this method to achieve the goal even if it is worthy.
From the societial view ,it is almost the same with the personal ones.Before a society takes actions to achieve something, it should weigh the benefits of doing so with the costs.Take the protection of the environment as an example.When a society wants to build a big new industral plant which is estimated to possessthe ability of providing the society with hugh economic profits,it should take the side effect the plant will bring to the environment into consideration.Is it really worthy if the society obtains a great sum of money and at the same time put the well being of the environment and even public health of its people under threat?The answer is definitely no.On the contrary ,should we take great pains to provent our environment from hurting at the costs of economic paralysis?The answer to it is obvious the same.It is very likely that the society can find out a suitable solution that will balance the benefits with the cost,and then make the beat of achieving the goal.
To sum up, whether it is the case that it is justifiable to take any means to reach to a goal that is worthy depends on many considerations.We should analyse every aspect of the pros and ,and weigh the benefits of attaining the goal with its costs.Only through this way can we obtain the best from the goal and enjoy the success from it.
