6 \" U5 k7 H! r4 u9 G% ~- DThe MCM Lab is responsible for research programs related to the Chinese medicine and Health Sciences in the Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine. We have a full range of research programs to investigate the chemical fingerprinting, genotyping of herbs and to elucidate the molecular mechanism of action of Chinese medicines as potential therapies for cancers, cardiovascular, immunological and neurological diseases. At present, we have a number of highly dedicated staff scientists, research assistants and graduate students. Our teachers have an international and diverse background. They received their education and research training from countries including China, Hong Kong, Canada, Sweden, and United States. Our laboratory is adjacent to the-state-of-the-art Faculty of Medicine Building Complex and the teaching hospital Queen Mary Hospital, overlooking the beautiful Lamma Island Channel and South China Sea. It consists of lecture theatres, medical library, student areas, and research facilities. In addition to wet lab, the complex is fully equipped with all range of support and core services for modern biomedical research including HKU Genome Centre, Influenza Research Lab and AIDS Research Centre.
