What’s happening in this heavenly follow-up to the original Charlie’s Angels? More action, more stunts1, more skin. And speaking of more, there’s Demi Moore, too in her first feature film in years. In fact this sequel, Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle, has more of everything. Just don’t look for more plot2. With this movie franchise it seems the skimpier the costumes the weaker the story. Let’s just say there are lots of skimpy3 costumes in this film.

Once again director McGee is at the helm, and Drew Barrymore, Cameron Diaz and Lucy Lu are all present and accounted for. But this time around Bernie Mac steps in as Jimmy Bausly, brother of John Bausly played by Bill Murray in the original, yes I said brother, don’t ask. Charlie is once again the voice of John Forsyth, and Moore plays a rogue, former angel named Madison.

Moore looks fantastic and holds her own with three of the hottest stars in the business. Obviously believing that “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it”, the makers of this sequel have kept all the elements from the first film in place. Somehow this movie manages to be sassy yet moronic, smart yet completely juvenile4, and totally mindless yet very entertaining. Not an easy trick.
