IBT相较之前的老托福考试，它的写作部分改革在于它新增了结合Listening-Reading-Writing三方面能力考查的Integrated Writing，对广大托友的英语实际应用能力提出了更高的要求，反而是Independent Writing部分和我们中国考生一直熟悉的考试模式一样并没有发生太多的变化，我想凡是经历过中考、高考、大学四六级英语等级考试洗礼的考友们都对这种模式了如指掌，但是往往越是了解，我们大家越是容易忽略它的重要性，结果错误反而越多！所以Independent Writing部分也是我们备考IBT的关键，不容忽视！

独立写作常见问题：

1、个别句子的语序有待考虑，希望在录入之前要三思一下。

2、文章的整体结构或者段落合理安排方面还有提高的空间。

3、一些固定短语搭配的使用不太地道！

实例1

Big city or countryside which is better for children to grow up in?

I seldom agree with others even in trivial issue. But if you ask me whether live in big city or countryside is better for children to grow up. I will say without thinking that I want my child to grow up in a big city.

Live in big cit has several benefits for children. First children are suppose to have education much higher quality than the counterpart lives in countryside. Parents always put the education in the first place. Secondly, the big city has more public utilities than countryside, such as hospital. Parents can send their children to hospital immediately when they get sick. Moreover, not only are there more hospitals than countryside, but also the qualities of the hospital are better as well. Then, there has more job opportunities than countryside and the pay is more decent. As a local resident, children can find a good job easily.

Children live in big city have more chance to absorb the culture all over the world and meet people from other country. Technology in city is more advanced than countryside. Children can get the information in a second through the internet or television.

Lice in countryside also have advantages, like have more friends, grow up more healthily because of the harmonious relationship among resident in the countryside, but live in city is incomparably better for children than in the countryside.

写作四部曲：审题——构思并且布局——下笔——两次重审。我们在进行写作时，这四个步骤往往是必经之路。同时我们也可以看出布局在整个写作流程中的至关重要的地位。就拿这篇例文来说吧，首先在首段明确表明自己的观点——相较城乡更愿意自己的小孩在大城市里成长，紧接着第二段陈述了在大城市生活的advantages以此来support the topic。但是第三段中讲的关于生活在大城市可以更方便地接触不同的文化和来自世界各地的人，我认为它完全可以规制到第二段中，因为它同样属于对the advantages of growing up in a big city的陈述。However,第四段中这位托友稍微涉及了一些the advantages of growing up in the countryside的内容，我认为这个可以另起一段，当然只需捎带说明一下，因为the advantages of growing up in a big city才是这篇文章的主体嘛，最后来一个结尾段简单呼应就可以了。

(3) 养成良好的写作习惯，尽量让自己有一两分钟的时间来回头检查，从而避免一些简单的拼写错误。本篇文章有个别单词在录入过程中出现了漏查，希望以后多多注意喽！

实例2

Is traveling in a group led by a tour guide the best way to travel?

The conveniences of group travel with a tour guide include that you can make new friends and have a funny and comfortable travel experience. It is important when raveling in a foreign country where the language becomes a big problem. The tour guide always has a cozy atmosphere and his/her knowledge of the place or culture provides you with a greater appreciation of the trip. Last, the most important is that you do not have to worry about hotel reservations and transportation. The guiders will take care of it.

On the other hand, convenience might not be important to a traveler, and graveling alone allows far more personal freedoms. For example, one can easily make changes to the travel plan. The traveler can choose to stay in the place longer or move on more quickly, because he/she does not have a set schedule. Learning about culture and places of interest is also easy as that information is readily available in books. Moreover, travelers by oneself cost(Traveling by oneself costs）less money and they can know exactly about the culture.

In a word, traveling in a group led by a tour guide is more comfortable and enjoyable, while travel by oneself has more exciting experience.
