17日晚7点，ETS新托福考试2007年秋季全国高校巡讲首站讲座在深圳大学举行。由ETS中国区测评顾问主讲，深圳大学托福考点主考老师参与的托福网考官方讲座吸引了400名深大学子的参加。

1、The difference of TOEFL and IELTS?

As we talked in the presentation, the new generation TOEFL test is an integrated test. It tests students ability to combine all four language skills for effective communication. So with the TOEFL iBT score, you can give universities admission officer more confidence on your communication skills, which is the key for your academic success.

Which one is better recognized in the US?

There are more than 4,000 universities and colleges in the states. TOEFL are accepted by all of them. IELTS claims that they are accepted by about 800s, so you can get the answer.

2、Now it is difficult to register for the test due to seat capacity. Does ETS have the plan to improve the situation and increase more test seats next year?

ETS and NEEA, our partner in China are working hard to provide more seats by increasing the # of test centers and expanding the current test centers capacity. We believe the situation will be improved soon.

3、If I took TOEFL several times, which score will be reported to university? The latest one or the best one? How long do TOEFL scores valid?

It depends on you. You can ask ETS to send the one you want university to know. TOEFL scores are good for two years.

4、If I didn’t ask the 4 free score report when registration, can I order the score report after the test? Do I pay for that? How long it will take for sending the score report to universities.

Yes, you can order the additional score report via either NEEA web site or ETS web site. The fee for additional score report is RMB 136. ETS will process your order application in 4-7 work days.

5、Many of students have to take the test by traveling to Hong Kong or even other countries due to seat capacity issue. Although Shenzhen is not far from Hong Kong, we still prefer take the test local. So could you deliver our wish to ETS headquarter?

Thanks for your suggestion. Both ETS and NEEA are fully aware of this issue and are working hard to improve it. We can understand your feeling and concern and we will take responsibility for that.
